Old boy Gonzalo Muñoz named COP25 champion in Chile

Our warmest congratulations to Gonzalo Muñoz Abogabir, Craighouse School old boy of the 1989 generation, founder and CEO of TriCiclos, for his designation as “champion” of the COP25. This is the largest climate summit in the world and will take place in Chile at Parque Bicentenario in Cerrillos, involving over twenty thousand people from December 2nd to 13th 2019.

The role of “champion” means acting as advisor to the COP president and spreading the messages of climate action, taking part in activities and working together with the United Nations.

Gonzalo is founder of TriCiclos, a post-consumption recycling company with the highest reputation in Chile. It was created in 2009 and stands as the first B certified company in South America. He is also cofounder and chairman of the board of Viña Polkura, and cofounder of MOVI (Movimiento de Viñateros Independientes de Chile). In 2011, he won the National Award in Environmental Innovation and has received recognitions such as Environmental Champion in Chile (MMA) in 2012, Social Entrepreneur in Chile (Fundación Schwab) in 2013, World Economic Forum Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015, and Global Responsible Leader (BMW Foundation) in 2016.
