IB World School
Being a continuum IB school allows us to offer our students a comprehensive, coherent and high-standard education that fosters critical thinking, international-mindedness and a strong sense of responsibility towards their community. In this way, we prepare them to thrive in a global and ever-changing world.
Our educational project integrates the national curriculum with the highest standards of the International Baccalaureate (IB), globally recognised for its academic excellence and its ability to develop students who are prepared for the future.
At Craighouse, this approach is reflected in a strong and coherent educational continuum that supports our students at every stage of
their development.
Craighouse is authorised to offer three IB programmes and we follow
the IB Continuum throughout all our levels and grades:

The Primary
Years Programme
The Primary Years Programme marks the beginning of a lifelong learning journey. Through an inquiry-based approach and transdisciplinary themes of global relevance, students develop their natural curiosity and build meaningful understanding of the world.
The PYP nurtures active, reflective and aware learners, capable of engaging independently in their learning and of making connections between what they learn inside and outside the classroom.

The Middle
Years Programme
The Middle Years Programme provides a rigorous academic framework that challenges students to become critical, creative and reflective thinkers. It promotes connections between disciplines and the real world, strengthening communication skills, intercultural understanding and global engagement.
At this stage, students develop the confidence and the tools needed to manage their own learning and to face complex challenges with autonomy.

The Diploma
Programme
The Diploma Programme is one of the most rigorous and internationally recognised pre-university curricula. It offers a balanced academic education that addresses the intellectual, social and emotional development of students, preparing them for success in higher education and beyond.
The DP fosters independent thinking, depth of knowledge and a strong sense of personal responsibility, shaping young people who are capable of making informed decisions and acting with purpose in global contexts.
IB Learner Profile
The IB learner profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. The profile aims to develop learners who are: Inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.
What opportunities does the IB Programme offer
for our pupils?
Our graduates leave school prepared to study, to create and to contribute to society achieving
their personal academic goals at universities in Chile and across the world.
In Chile, the IB Diploma is becoming another means of entry to Chilean universities.
Currently, 20 national universities offer this option for some of their programs

CAS
Creatividad, Actividad y Servicio
CAS stands for Creativity, Activity and Service. It is a key subject within the IB Diploma Programme.
It is characterised by a constant pursuit of new challenges that enhance pupils' skill development, promoting social causes that inspire them to create a better world.
We hope that every project we undertake leaves a meaningful mark on our CAS pupils, fostering empathy and encouraging them to become true agents of change.
