Being a Prefect is much more than wearing a special tie in Year 12 and having a badge that identifies them. It is a role of honour and responsibility, entrusted to pupils who embody Craighouse School’s values and demonstrate excellence, integrity and leadership.

Ser Prefect es mucho más que usar una corbata especial en IV Medio y portar una insignia que los identifica. Se trata de un honor y una gran responsabilidad, otorgada a alumnos que encarnan los valores de Craighouse School y demuestran excelencia, integridad y liderazgo.
Craighouse School celebrates PAES 2024 results
On Friday 7th March, Craighouse School proudly welcomed back representatives of the 2024 Generation for a special recognition ceremony celebrating the outstanding results achieved by our former pupils in the University Entrance Exam (PAES, Prueba de Acceso a la Educación Superior), taken by 109 students in December.
We are pleased to share the following achievements: 66% of our pupils scored over 900 points in at least one of the tests and 75% achieved 800 points or more in at least one of the five PAES components.
During the assembly, special recognition was given to the pupils who achieved the maximum score of 1,000 points in the Mathematics Competency Test (M1): Yabra Aguad Ripamonti, Gregorio Aldunate Etchepare, Pascale Belletti Pilasi, Massimo Bruzzone Falcone, Matías Burull Ibarra, Andrés Castillo del Villar, Rafaela Rochet Brautigam, Pablo Saenz-Diez Suárez, Catalina Solis Machuca, Nicolás Trucco Contesse, Sofía Urenda Izquierdo and Martín Weis Rafols.
We also recognised the pupils with the highest average scores in the Reading and Mathematics (M1) tests: Andrés Espinoza Pizarro (961,5), Juan Facundo Krarup Martínez (951,5), Matías Durán Pattillo (951,5), Catalina Solís Machuca (929), Joaquín Araneda Spencer (926,5), Pablo Saenz-Diez Suárez (920), Sofía Droppelmann Valdés (916), Sofía Urenda Izquierdo (911,5), Isabella León Pérez (911), Helena Young Coppo (907,5) and Martina Soublette Gajardo (907).
We are incredibly proud of each of our former pupils for their dedication, effort, and academic excellence. These results are also a reflection of the collective commitment of our entire educational community.
Craighouse School reconoce a sus puntajes destacados en PAES 2024
El viernes 7 de marzo, Craighouse School recibió con orgullo a representantes de la Generación 2024 en una emotiva ceremonia de reconocimiento, en la que celebramos los resultados obtenidos por nuestros exalumnos en la Prueba de Acceso a la Educación Superior (PAES), rendida por 109 estudiantes en diciembre pasado.
Nos llena de alegría compartir que: El 66% de la generación superó los 900 puntos en al menos una de las pruebas y el 75% alcanzó 800 puntos o más en al menos una de las cinco pruebas que conforman la PAES.

Launched in 2024, this mobile tool was created to streamline access to official information and strengthen communication with our families. In addition to the emails you receive and our posts on Instagram (@craighouse_news), the App has become an official communication channel, particularly useful in emergency situations.
With the Craighouse App, you have instant access to: Official communications, emergency alerts, academic and sports calendars, monthly lunch menus, School News editions and much more!
You can download it from the App Store (Apple) or Play Store (Android) by searching for Craighouse School. Simply log in using your RUT (without dots or dashes) as both your username and password. You’ll then be asked to create a 4-digit security code to protect your access. If you’ve already downloaded the app, make sure to enable notifications in your settings so you never miss an update.

Everything ready for the 2025 Round Square International Conference at Craighouse “Dare to Dream, Dare to Lead”
The countdown has begun! From 2 to 9 April 2025, Craighouse School will become the heart of global education as it hosts the Round Square International Conference – an event taking place in Chile for the very first time.
Delegations from across four continents will arrive in Santiago for an unforgettable week of learning, diversity, and collaboration. We are proud to welcome around 110 participants, including 60 international students, who will come together to share experiences that transcend borders.
Round Square is a prestigious international educational network based in the UK, bringing together over 260 schools from 50 countries. Its mission is to develop global citizens through an education grounded in six key IDEALS: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service.
Throughout the conference, delegates will take part in a rich and meaningful programme, including inspirational keynote speeches, a cultural showcase and global dance fair, visits to historical sites and museums in Santiago, a day of community service in Valparaíso, adventure activities organised by Latitud 90, an outdoor day at Ecoterra Park in Paine and a grand closing ceremony and final celebration at school.
This event not only places Craighouse and Chile on the international educational map, but also offers a remarkable opportunity for our entire school community to actively take part in a global project where values, dialogue, and action come to life.

Todo listo para la Conferencia Internacional Round Square 2025 en Craighouse “Dare to dream, Dare to lead”
¡La cuenta regresiva ha comenzado! Desde el 2 al 9 de abril de 2025, Craighouse School se transformará en el epicentro de la educación global al ser anfitrión de la Conferencia Internacional Round Square, un evento que se realiza por primera vez en Chile.
Delegaciones provenientes de los cuatro continentes llegarán a Santiago para vivir una semana inolvidable de aprendizaje, diversidad y colaboración. En total, recibiremos a cerca de 110 participantes, incluyendo 60 alumnos internacionales, quienes compartirán experiencias que traspasan fronteras.
Round Square es una prestigiosa red educativa internacional con sede en el Reino Unido, que reúne a más de 260 colegios en 50 países. Su propósito: formar ciudadanos globales mediante una educación basada en seis pilares fundamentales: internacionalismo, democracia, liderazgo, servicio, aventura y compromiso ambiental.
Durante la conferencia, los delegados participarán en un programa lleno de actividades significativas que incluyen ponencias inspiradoras, una muestra cultural y feria de danzas del mundo, visitas a sitios históricos y museos en Santiago, una jornada de servicio comunitario en Valparaíso, actividades de aventura junto a Latitud 90, un día al aire libre en el parque Ecoterra (Paine) y una gran ceremonia de clausura y celebración final en el colegio.
Este evento no solo posiciona a Craighouse y a Chile en la escena educativa internacional, sino que también representa una extraordinaria oportunidad para toda nuestra comunidad escolar de involucrarse activamente en un proyecto global, donde los valores, el diálogo y la acción se hacen realidad.

A weekend full of rugby and hockey: Craighouse shines in ABSCH tournaments and sporting events
Craighouse sports experienced an unforgettable weekend, with outstanding performances from our pupils in both rugby and hockey, demonstrating not only skill and talent, but also commitment, teamwork and true sportsmanship.
On Friday 28th March, at The Grange School, our Year 7 and 8 teams were the stars of the ABSCH Rugby Seven-a-Side tournament:
Year 7A: Champions after defeating Santiago College in an exciting final.
Junior B: First place with a brilliant performance.
Junior A: Cup winners following a thrilling match against The Grange.
The achievements continued on Saturday 29th March at The Mackay School, with more success for our teams:
Intermediate Team A: Winners of the Shield
Intermediate Team B: First place
Senior Team B: A convincing victory
Meanwhile, on the hockey pitch, Craighouse hosted a bilateral match against St. Gabriel’s School, with Teams A and B from Year 5 to Intermediate taking part. Craighouse came out on top in most of the matches, reflecting the strength and dedication of our players.
At the same time, our C teams from Years 5 to 8 enjoyed a special hockey clinic with St. George’s College, a school recently introduced to the sport. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn, share experiences and foster camaraderie between schools.
We warmly congratulate all players, coaches and visiting schools for their enthusiasm and commitment. These events were a true celebration of sport and the values that inspire us as the Craighouse community. #wearesoproudofyou
¡Fin de semana a puro rugby y hockey! Craighouse brilla en los torneos ABSCH y encuentros deportivos
El deporte Craighouse vivió un fin de semana inolvidable con grandes actuaciones de nuestros alumnos y alumnas
en rugby y hockey, demostrando no solo talento, sino también compromiso, compañerismo y espíritu deportivo.
El viernes 28 de marzo, en The Grange School, nuestros equipos de 7° y 8° Básico fueron los grandes protagonistas del torneo ABSCH de rugby Seven a Side:
7° Básico A: ¡Campeones tras vencer a Santiago College en una final llena de emoción!
Junior B: ¡Primer lugar con una actuación brillante!
Junior A: ¡Ganadores de la copa tras un emocionante partido contra The Grange!
Al día siguiente, el sábado 29 de marzo, el entusiasmo y los logros continuaron en The Mackay School:
Categoría Intermedia Equipo A: ganadores del Shield
Categoría Intermedia Equipo B: ¡primer lugar!
Categoría Senior Equipo B: victoria contundente
En hockey, en tanto, nuestras canchas fueron el escenario de un bilateral contra St. Gabriel’s School, con la participación de los equipos A y B desde 5° Básico hasta la categoría Intermedia, donde Craighouse resultó vencedor en la mayoría de los encuentros. En paralelo, los equipos C de 5° a 8° Básico vivieron una experiencia formativa muy especial al participar en una clínica de hockey junto a St. George’s College, institución que recientemente se ha incorporado a esta disciplina.
Felicitamos a todos los jugadores, jugadoras, entrenadores y colegios invitados por su entusiasmo y compromiso. ¡Estas jornadas han sido una verdadera celebración del deporte y de los valores que nos inspiran como comunidad Craighouse! #wearesoproudofyou
All Craighouse Parents Invited to Join the 2025 Book Club!
On Wednesday 26 March, an enthusiastic group of parents kicked off the 2025 Book Club, an initiative that began in 2024 and continues this year with even more energy and enthusiasm.
This monthly gathering offers a space to share our love of reading in a warm and enriching environment. Each session is an invitation to discuss notable authors and literary works, always accompanied by a good cup of coffee and meaningful conversation.
Meetings are held in Spanish, once a month at 8:30 a.m., and there are still places available for those who would like to join.
In addition, for any parents interested in becoming part of the club, we will hold an introductory meeting on Thursday 10 April, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the Middle and Senior Inquiry Centre. During this session, we will explain how the club works and answer any questions.
Whether you're new to the Book Club or already part of the group, we warmly invite you to complete the following form.

¡Todos los apoderados Craighouse invitados al Book Club 2025!
El miércoles 26 de marzo, un entusiasta grupo de apoderados dio el puntapié inicial al Book Club 2025, una iniciativa que comenzó en 2024 y que este año continúa con más fuerza que nunca. Se trata de un espacio mensual de encuentro en el que compartimos nuestra pasión por la lectura en un ambiente cálido y enriquecedor. Cada sesión es una invitación a conversar sobre autores destacados y obras literarias, acompañados de una taza de café y una buena conversación.
Las reuniones se realizan en español, una vez al mes, a las 8:30 horas, y aún hay cupos disponibles para quienes deseen sumarse.
Además, para todos los apoderados interesados en integrarse, se realizará una reunión introductoria el jueves 10 de abril, de 8:30 a 9:30 horas, en el Centro de Indagación de Middle y Senior. En esa oportunidad presentaremos el funcionamiento del club y resolveremos todas sus dudas.

Saturday 12th April: Our entire community is invited to
Craighouse Day 2025
The annual event, organised by the Craighouse School Parents’ Association, will take place on Saturday 12th April, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the Darling Hall esplanade.
Everyone is warmly invited to enjoy a fun-filled family day featuring a surprise show, games, food trucks and plenty of opportunities to spend time together as a community.
As part of this event, there will be a raffle, with all funds raised going to support the Solidarity Fund, which provides assistance to families in need within our community. The raffle books have already been sent to our pupils’ families and everyone is warmly invited to join in, have fun, get involved, and support this meaningful cause.

Sábado 12 de abril: Toda nuestra comunidad está invitada al Craighouse Day 2025
La actividad, que organiza todos los años el Centro de Padres y Apoderados de Craighouse School, se llevará a cabo el sábado 12 de abril en la explanada Darling Hall entre las 11:00 y las 17:00 horas.
La invitación es a pasar un entretenido día en familia, donde habrá un show sorpresa, juegos, carros de comida y compartir con toda la comunidad. En el marco de esta actividad se realizará una rifa y los fondos recaudados se destinarán al Fondo Solidario que apoya a familias más necesitadas de nuestra comunidad. Los talonarios ya se enviaron a las familias de nuestros alumnos y están todos invitados a pasarlo bien, motivarse y apoyar esta causa.
